Swaps legal update — Advance notice

Advance notice — edition legal-release-2026-10-03-r3. Actual publication is recorded separately from the scheduled effective dates. For newly chosen products or features: on first use on or after 7 October 2026, only when the product is launched and you are eligible. For existing services: no earlier than 10 November 2026 and no earlier than 30 days after notice to the affected user, or later where mandatory law or the applicable agreement requires. Early acceptance does not shorten this transition. Existing terms continue to govern existing services during their transition.

What changes

Product terms explain the roles of Swaps, users, payment contracts and providers, including fees, finality, underpayments and excess payments.
The terms use Address Check for the report service previously described as Search or Addresses. Its introductory free full-report allowance changes from three checks to one per user, shared across all access points, including the Ask Swaps assistant. The existing-service transition applies.
Cybersecurity, misuse and AI errors are addressed alongside the limits of liability. Mandatory rights and duties remain protected.
Privacy information describes data handling, recipients, controller and processor roles, retention and rights.
Optional cookies, marketing and provider agreements remain separate from acceptance of Swaps terms.
Acceptance records your explicit choice for this edition. An owner can also accept for the named account. Accepting early does not bring forward the applicable effective date.
