Each provider quote includes the explicit provider fee plus the spread (the gap between the mid-market rate and the rate you actually receive). Swaps's ranking algorithm uses the total amount of crypto delivered to your wallet (or fiat to your bank) as the comparison signal — not the headline fee or the marketing spread alone. This is why a provider with a 2% fee and a tight spread often beats a provider with a 0.5% fee and a wide spread on the same corridor.

What changes the price

Three factors move the all-in cost: payment method (cards carry network fees, bank transfers don't), country (some markets have higher regulatory cost), and amount (larger tickets often unlock tighter spreads). Quote freshness matters too — Swaps re-evaluates routes in real time so volatile market periods don't catch you on a stale quote. The Tier-1 fiat-aware filter ensures dead-end routes never appear in the comparison.
