After you get back in: this phone’s key
WalletWallet holders·Updated
The key you added with your backup key sends money on Tempo. Other payments still need your wallet key.
What it does
It sends money to Tempo addresses with Send, and it signs “Confirm your key” when Swaps asks you to confirm your wallet key. “This phone’s key sends on Tempo only. Sends to other networks, Convert, Pay and bank payouts still need your wallet key.” On the network, whoever has it can move your whole balance, so guard it like your wallet key.
Swaps calls it “this phone’s key” on every device. Settings › Passkeys lists it under “Keys added in Swaps” as “Device key”. Your password manager saves it as “Swaps device key · …”, with the date and four characters.
Sending with it
Send shows “Confirm with this phone’s key. This send can’t be undone.” Choose this device’s key in the prompt. The network fee comes from your balance.
Every Send on Tempo starts with this key, on any device where you use this Swaps account. On a device that has only your wallet key, choose “Use your wallet key instead”.
Deleting a device key
In Settings › Passkeys, choose “Delete” next to it, type its name and approve with another key of this wallet. Do it on the page where you got back in, before you reload it: after a reload Swaps asks for your wallet key, unless it is recorded as lost or stolen. Nothing moves; the network fee comes from your balance, and it can’t be undone. “That device can’t sign for this wallet after this.” “If it’s the only key you can still use, no one can move your funds.”
While your wallet key is recorded as lost or stolen, the last key you can still use shows “Your last working key. It can’t be deleted.”
Your other keys
Getting back in doesn’t turn off your wallet key: if you find it, it works as before. Your backup key stays too, and it can add a key on another device. Swaps pays for up to three device keys on one wallet; after that, Swaps says “All phone keys are used”.
