Who holds my money at each step?

Wallet transactions use your signing credentials or an authorised session. Providers and payment contracts may hold or handle funds in transit. Control and return options depend on the route.
Step by step
| In your Swaps Wallet | Only you. Your passkey signs every move. |
|---|---|
| Bank transfer in or out | Bridge holds it in transit. |
| Between networks | Relay carries it in transit. |
| Crypto payment into a link on Tempo | A payment contract that can pay only the merchant and the fee. |
| Payroll, paying an invoice | Bridge, from funding to payout. It never passes through your wallet. |

Why we name the partner
So you know who carries your money before it moves. The partner is saved on the payment, so an old receipt never changes.
Swaps provides the interface and transaction coordination. Bank payments are processed by Bridge, the provider for supported bank services, named before you pay.
