What is Swaps Payroll?
Swaps Payroll helps customers, including individuals and businesses, prepare a pay run, fund it once, and track each contractor or worker payout. It handles payout execution. You remain responsible for calculating pay and meeting your tax and employment obligations.
1. Start with a draft
Open Swaps Payroll, sign in, and check availability for your account. When Payroll is available, you can create a draft before completing the verification required to approve and execute payments. A draft does not send money.
2. Add the people and amounts
Add recipients manually or import a CSV. Review each amount, currency and memo against your own payment records. For example, a small agency can prepare one run for a designer and a developer, with a separate row for each agreed payment. This is an example of preparing a run, not a live payment or a promise that either destination is supported.
3. Confirm recipient destinations
Recipients use a secure link to confirm their payout destination. Available options can include a bank account or an enabled external USDC wallet. Availability depends on the account, currency and destination checks. A wallet must use a supported network; choosing USDC alone does not make every network eligible. See how recipients choose a destination.
4. Review and approve
Check every row before approving. Approval locks the payout details. Completing a draft does not mean that verification, recipient readiness or payment availability checks have passed. Resolve any requirements shown in the workspace before proceeding.
5. Fund the approved run
Use only the funding instructions shown for that run, and check the required amount and currency. Do not send money before instructions are available. Payments cannot execute until funding is verified and the required checks pass. Read how to fund a pay run.
6. Track each payout
Review the status of each recipient row. A run can be partly complete while another payout is still processing or needs attention. Keep the payout records alongside your own agreements and accounting records.
If a payout fails or returns
Check the affected row and its available next step. A failed payout does not prove that money has been returned, and a returned status does not promise an immediate refund to your bank. Check the funding and payout records before sending again. Follow the failed or returned payout guide, or contact support if the next step is unclear.
Your responsibilities
Swaps Payroll does not calculate payroll taxes, file payroll, issue legal payslips or act as employer of record. You are responsible for agreed pay, worker classification, tax, employment records and required filings. See why Payroll does not calculate taxes.
