No ID to hold, receive or send on Tempo.
The Swaps Wallet is non-custodial. The key that moves your money is a passkey created on your own device, and Swaps never holds it. There is no ID upload, no selfie and no proof of address to open it.
That covers the core of the wallet: creating it, holding a balance, receiving USDC to your Tempo address and sending to another Tempo address. You approve every send with your passkey: Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello or your device PIN.

Bank services require an ID check.
Banks need to know who pays and who gets paid. So when money moves between your wallet and a bank, Bridge, the provider for supported bank services, checks who you are, under its own rules. That happens when you use:
- Bank details in your name, to receive a bank transfer into the wallet.
- A send from the wallet to your own bank account.
- A payment to someone else’s bank, which runs as Pay an invoice.
Each bank currency has its own verification requirements. Other provider routes may also require checks.
In your wallet, only you can move the money. On a bank leg, Bridge carries it and checks who you are. It lands where you chose.
Receiving USDC from another network runs through Relay and appears only where enabled for your account, with its costs shown before you approve. Buying crypto with a card or bank transfer is a separate product, Buy crypto, where the provider you pick runs its own checks.
No ID check is not the same as privacy.
Tempo is a public blockchain. Anyone can see the transfers to and from your address, as on any public network.
You still sign in to Swaps to use the wallet. Swaps stores what it needs to run it: your public wallet address, your passkey’s public key and an activity log. None of that can move money. The Terms and Acceptable use policy apply as on every Swaps product.
Your key, your responsibility.
There is no seed phrase to write down or lose. If your credential provider supports passkey sync and you enable it, a replacement device may retain access.
If no usable passkey or synced copy remains, Swaps cannot recover the wallet. Swaps has no copy of the key, so there is no reset. Check your credential provider’s supported sync and recovery options.
- A sent payment cannot be undone.
- Only send USDC on the network you picked.
- The passkey is bound to swaps.app: the wallet signs only on Swaps, but anyone can send to its address.
Swaps Wallet or an exchange account?
Both hold dollars. The difference is who holds the key, and when you are asked for ID.
| Question | Swaps Wallet | Typical exchange account |
|---|---|---|
| Who holds the money | You, with your passkey | The exchange, for you |
| ID check to start | None to hold, receive or send on Tempo | Usually required to open the account |
| Who can freeze it | Swaps cannot sign for you. Providers and token issuers can have their own controls. | The exchange |
| Lost access | Recovery depends on retaining a usable or synced passkey | The exchange can restore your login |
| What you can hold | US dollars, as stablecoins on Tempo | Many coins, depending on the exchange |
| Cash out to a bank | Through Bridge, with an ID check | Through the exchange, with its ID check |
An exchange or a multi-coin wallet fits if you want many coins in one place. This wallet fits if you want dollars only you can move.
It holds dollars, not every coin.
Many people looking for a wallet without KYC want one for Bitcoin or Ether. This is not that wallet. Your balance is one USD figure, held as USD stablecoins on Tempo: USDC.e, pathUSD, USDT0, USD1 or cUSD where available.
Where cross-network routes are enabled for your account, you can receive USDC from Base, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Optimism or Polygon. It arrives in the same dollar balance.
Sending on Tempo has no Swaps fee. Sending to another network carries a disclosed 0.15% Swaps fee plus network costs, shown before you approve.

Named before money moves, never swapped silently. Swaps provides the interface and transaction coordination.
FAQ
Questions.
Is the Swaps Wallet really no-KYC?
Yes, for the wallet itself. You can create it and hold, receive and send USDC on Tempo without an identity check. Bank services through Bridge require verification; other provider routes may also require checks.
Do I need to verify to receive money?
Not on Tempo. Share your Tempo address and anyone can send you USDC. Bank details in your name need a profile verified with Bridge.
Can Swaps freeze or take my money?
No. The key lives in your device passkey, never on Swaps servers, so Swaps cannot sign a wallet send for you. Access through Swaps, provider routes and token transfers may still be restricted.
What if I lose my phone?
A synced passkey may be available on a replacement device through your credential provider; availability depends on your settings and access to that account. If no usable passkey or synced copy remains, Swaps cannot recover the wallet.
Are my transactions private?
No. Tempo is a public blockchain, so transfers to and from your address are visible to anyone. You also sign in to a Swaps account to use the wallet.
What does it cost?
No Swaps fee to hold a balance or to receive and send on Tempo. The network fee is about $0.03 per transfer. Sending to another network adds a 0.15% Swaps fee plus network costs, shown before you approve.
