Shiba Inu was created by an anonymous developer known as "Ryoshi" in August 2020. Ryoshi stepped away from the project in 2022. Development is now led by Shytoshi Kusama (pseudonymous lead developer) and the broader community through the Shiba Inu ecosystem. The project's growth has been almost entirely community-driven.
