Injective (INJ)
DeFi without limits. The fastest Layer 1 for finance.
What is Injective?
Injective is a layer-1 blockchain built specifically for financial applications. It provides native support for advanced trading features like order book exchanges, derivatives, futures, and prediction markets — functionality that is difficult to build on general-purpose chains.
The network achieves instant transaction finality with near-zero gas fees, making it practical for high-frequency trading strategies that require fast execution. Injective is built with the Cosmos SDK and connected to the broader Cosmos ecosystem via IBC, while also supporting Ethereum and Solana cross-chain interoperability.
INJ has a deflationary tokenomics model where a portion of exchange fees is auctioned off and burned weekly. This "buy-back and burn" mechanism has removed significant supply from circulation, creating one of the more aggressive deflation schedules in crypto.
How Injective Works
Injective is a blockchain with a built-in stock exchange. Most blockchains are general-purpose computers that you build exchanges on top of. Injective bakes the exchange logic into the chain itself — order matching, derivatives settlement, and cross-chain trading are all native features. This is like the difference between running a stock exchange as a website versus having it built into the internet infrastructure. It is faster, cheaper, and more capable because the chain was designed for finance from the ground up.

Team & Development
Injective was co-founded by Eric Chen (CEO) and Albert Chon (CTO). Chen was previously a researcher at Innovating Capital and has a background in blockchain research. The project is backed by Binance Labs, Pantera Capital, and Jump Crypto. Injective Labs leads core protocol development.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes Injective different from other DEXs?
Most DEXs are apps built on blockchains. Injective is a blockchain built for trading. Order books, derivatives, and cross-chain swaps are native features, not bolted-on applications. This makes it faster and more capable for financial use cases.
How does the INJ burn work?
Every week, a portion of exchange fees is auctioned and the proceeds are burned — permanently removed from supply. This creates consistent deflationary pressure on the INJ token.
Where do I store INJ?
INJ exists on both Ethereum (ERC-20) and its native Injective chain. For the native chain, use the Ninji wallet or Keplr. For ERC-20, any Ethereum wallet works.
Can I sell or swap INJ?
Yes. Swaps supports selling INJ for fiat and swapping it for other tokens.
