Enjin (ENJ)
Gaming NFTs powered by Ethereum. Play, create, trade.
What is Enjin?
Enjin is a blockchain platform for creating, managing, and trading gaming NFTs. Game developers use Enjin to mint in-game items as NFTs backed by ENJ, the platform's native cryptocurrency. Every NFT contains ENJ value that can be retrieved by melting the item back into ENJ. This gives digital items intrinsic value.
ENJ serves as the reserve currency for Enjin NFTs. When a developer mints a sword, skin, or character as an NFT, they lock ENJ into it. Players truly own these items and can trade them across games, sell them on marketplaces, or melt them back to ENJ if they no longer want the item.
Enjin has powered NFT integrations for games like Minecraft and The Six Dragons, and has partnerships with Microsoft, Samsung, and others. The platform enables cross-game item ownership — imagine using a sword you earned in one game inside a completely different game.
How Enjin Works
Developers use Enjin's SDKs to integrate NFT minting and trading into their games. When minting an NFT, they choose how much ENJ to lock inside it. That ENJ is removed from circulation, creating scarcity and guaranteed minimum value. Players receive NFTs in their Enjin Wallet or any compatible Ethereum wallet. If they want to exit, they can melt the NFT and receive the locked ENJ back, minus a small fee. This creates a price floor: an NFT backed by 10 ENJ can never be worth less than 10 ENJ.

Team & Development
Enjin was founded in 2009 by Maxim Blagov and Witek Radomski as a gaming community platform. In 2017, the team pivoted to blockchain and launched the Enjin Coin ICO. Witek Radomski co-authored the ERC-1155 token standard, which became the industry standard for gaming NFTs. Enjin has been building blockchain gaming infrastructure for over seven years.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does it mean that an NFT is backed by ENJ?
When an NFT is minted on Enjin, the creator locks ENJ into it. That ENJ is removed from circulation. If you own the NFT and decide you don't want it, you can melt it and receive the ENJ back. This creates a price floor — the NFT is always worth at least the ENJ inside it.
Can I use Enjin NFTs in any game?
Only in games that integrate Enjin. Developers must choose to support cross-game items. Enjin provides the infrastructure, but game studios decide whether to accept NFTs from other games.
Where do I store ENJ?
ENJ is an ERC-20 token. Use the Enjin Wallet (official), MetaMask, Ledger, or any Ethereum wallet. Enjin NFTs are ERC-1155 tokens stored in the same wallets.
Can I sell or swap ENJ?
Yes. Swaps supports selling ENJ for fiat and swapping it for other tokens.
